Love
The Book says love is patient,
So why can’t I be to you?
It says love should be kind,
Do you feel that way, too?
The Book says love is never jealous,
Could you blame me if I would?
It also says it’s never envious,
Can’t help it, sometimes, though I strive.
Love should never be boastful nor proud,
Please forgive me for crying out loud
Love should never be haughty nor selfish,
But it has a strange way of imprisoning my senses.
Love should never be rude,
Just don’t be a jerk, dude,
I want love to be as heavenly as it should
Yet I’m just human, with all my follies and faults.
